223 Pistol is just more practical to use despite higher AP cost and slightly lower damage range (20-30 vs 22-32), whatever Gauss ammo you find is better saved for Gauss Rifle instead. Gauss Pistol is nice, but the ammo is just so rare it's not even funny.
